Overview
Tavin EM (Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) tablet is an antiretroviral medication. It is used for the treatment of infection caused by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). This medication helps to delay the production of HIV infection and improves the quality of life. Tavin EM tablet boost your immune system to fight against infection and prevents the virus from multiplying. It increases the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in your blood. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some serious side effects. If you experience any signs and symptoms while receiving this medicine, inform your doctor immediately.

Pharmacodynamics
Emtricitabine (Tavin-EM):- It is a synthetic nucleoside analog of cytidine, that is phosphorylated by cellular enzymes in order to form Emtricitabine (Tavin-EM) 5′-triphosphate. Emtricitabine works to inhibit the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT) by competing with the natural substrate deoxycytidine 5′-triphosphate and by being incorporated into nascent viral DNA, resulting in chain termination.

Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (Tavin-EM):- It is an acyclic nucleoside phosphonate diester analog of adenosine monophosphate. It works to inhibit the activity of HIV-1 RT by competing with the natural substrate deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate and, after incorporation into DNA, by DNA-chain termination.

Usage
Tavin-EM tablet is a combination of two anti-HIV medicines: Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. This medication is not a permanent cure for HIV infection. Tavin-EM tablet prevents the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. It is important to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
