Overview
Naivex (Dolutegravir) tablet is used in the treatment of HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) infection. This medication helps to reduce the amount of HIV in your body and improves the quality of life. It works by blocking an enzyme called integrase and reduces the amount of HIV in the blood. Naivex tablet boosts your immune system to fight against infection and prevents the virus from multiplying. It is important to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. It is advisable not to change your regular dosing schedule without taking suggestions from your doctor.

Pharmacodynamics
Naivex, comprising Dolutegravir, is an HIV-1 antiviral agent. It works to inhibit HIV integrase and binds to the active site. It blocks the strand transfer step of retroviral DNA integration in the host cell. During the clinical trials, it was indicated that Dolutegravir has a tight binding and longer dissociative half-life. Therefore, it is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of patients with HIV-1 infection, provided their age is 12 or above and present weight is at least 40 kg.
