Overview
Soranib (sorafenib) tablet is used to treat certain types of cancer (liver, kidney, and thyroid cancer). This medicine helps to prevent the multiplication of cancer cells. Tablet belongs to a class of medication known as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This is an anti-cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancerous cells. Pharmacodynamics
Sorafenib is a kinase inhibitor that decreases tumor cell proliferation in vitro. Sorafenib inhibited tumor growth of HCC, RCC, and DTC human tumor xenografts in immunocompromised mice. Reductions in tumor angiogenesis were seen in models of HCC and RCC upon Soranib treatment, and increases in tumor apoptosis were observed in models of HCC, RCC, and DTC.
