Letroz 2.5 mg tablet is a hormone therapy medication that is used for the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The generic name of this medication is Letrozole and it is an aromatase inhibitor. Letroz 2.5 mg is a strictly prescription-based medication.

Pharmacodynamics

Letroz is a non-steroidal competitive aromatase inhibitor that blocks the enzyme CYP19A1. This as a result prevents the formation of estrogen from androgens. As estrogen levels decrease, the tumors that are dependent on the tumors also decrease. Therefore Letroz 2.5 mg tablets slow down the progression of the disease.
