Palbace (palbociclib) capsules are used in the treatment of breast cancer. This medicine belongs to a group of cancer-fighting medications called protein kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of chemicals that cause cancer cells to divide and grow.  It is important to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and your response to the treatment. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some severe side effects. Close monitoring of blood cell count is necessary while having treatment with this medicine.

Palbociclib inhibits cell growth and suppresses DNA replication in retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene (RB) proficient cancer cells. RB cells present a significant increase in the proportion of cells in the G1 state and the presence of palbociclib produces effective dephosphorylation of RB, reduces proliferation, and induces senescence (a process by cell ages and permanently stops dividing). After the oral administration, the effect of this medicine can be observed between 6 to 12 hours.

Palbace (palbociclib) is an anti-cancer medication and it is also used to treat patients with a certain type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Take this medicine with food and swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Dosage is based on your medical condition and your response to the treatment. It is advisable not to change or stop the dose without taking suggestions from your doctor. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice. Do not take the capsules that are broken.
