Mechanism Of Action

It works by blocking the action of abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This in turn helps to slow or inhibit the spread of cancer cells

Side effects- 

The most common side effects of geftinat include nausea, rash, vomiting, and weight loss. It may cause severe diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids or consult the doctor if it happens. It makes the patient sensitive to sunlight, hence wear protective clothing or use sunscreen while going out.

Precaution

Consult your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

Experience unexplained shortness of breath, cough, and fever that comes on suddenly. These could be symptoms of a serious lung condition.

Have severe or continuing diarrhea that lasts up to 14 days.

Experiencing Adverse Skin Reactions Like Blistering, Peeling, Or Loosening Of The Skin, Red Skin Lesions, Severe Acne Or Skin Rash, Sores Or Ulcers On The Skin

Warnings

General Warning And Precautions

Do not take antacids (to reduce the acid level of your stomach) 2 hours before or 1 hour after administering geftinat.

Diarrhea can occur as a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids and inform the doctor in case it doesn’t stop or there is blood in stools.

Cautions

It is usually taken on an empty stomach once a day, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating a meal or snack. Take geftinat at around the same time every day.
